Ethnographic | Comparative | Applied

We are currently seeking funding for a pioneering comparative study of the lives of 120 people with Intellectual Disabilities in four locations across the Global South:
- Calicut, Kerala, India
- Cape Town, Western Cape Province, South Africa
- Porto Allegre, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil
- Mumbai, Maharashtra, India
The project will introduce a step-change to our cross-cultural understanding of intellectual disability through:
- A groundbreaking range and depth of ethnographic work
- Intensive application of participatory and inclusive research methods
- A new anthropological method for analysing cultural and intersectional variation in developmental trajectories of adults
